Immersive technology covers a range of areas including gamification, virtual reality, augmented reality and even live streaming. If you have an interest in this area, our team member Dr Russell Butson would be more than happy to discuss the benefits of immersive technology and how you might go about using them in teaching. There is a lot to learn about immersive technologies from navigating metaverses and using simulated environments with inbuilt decision making capabilities as a teaching tool. We are more than happy to discuss the possibilities immersive technologies provide.
Professor Ben Daniel is our resident expert on data science. Whether you need help sourcing data, analysing it or creating visualisations, his years of experience in working with big data will help you work out your plan or next steps.
He can also assist supervisors who may be mentoring a student using data methodology unfamiliar to them. Methodologies is a broad area of knowledge, Ben can assist you in the areas where you need support.
Furthermore, Ben is able to help teachers wanting to utilise teaching analytics to improve the quality of their teaching and also learning analytics to improve student outcomes. Capturing data on what resources students are accessing most frequently, for example, or where online teacher interaction improved participation.
Fro research purposes, Ben can help you at whatever point you are at on your data science journey from harvesting, extracting, processing and visualising. At the higher level, Ben can assist with utilising large data sets for decision making and strategy construction.
