The Higher Education Development Centre offers certificate, diploma and masters level qualifications that provide you with the flexibility to specialise in Educational Technologies.
Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (PGCertHighE)
A qualification for those who teach tertiary students in universities and other tertiary institutions.
Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education (PGDipHighE)
Participants gain an understanding of practitioner research.
Master of Higher Education (MHEd)
The MHEd degree is focused on advanced study of the higher education sector.
Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (PGCertHeighE)
The PGCertHighE is a qualification for those who teach tertiary students in universities and other tertiary institutions. Participants explore the theory and practice of tertiary teaching and learning and apply this knowledge by inquiry into an areas of their own practice.
Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education (PGDipHighE)
Building on the postgraduate certificate, participants gain an understanding of practitioner research by undertaking advanced inquiry into an area of their practice. The process of research is supported by a comprehensive research methods programme, and the final assessment is through a dissertation.
Master of Higher Education (MHEd)
The MHed degree is focused on advanced study of the higher education sector. The programme allows students to explore the various theories and pracitces that underpin a holistic approach to curriculum teaching, learning, assessment and leadership within higher education. There is a research-based project that supports advanced inquiry into an aspect of the student's preferred professional practice. Participants will also have the opportunity to explore the role of various forms of educational technology and analytics in supporting learning, teaching and research. The programme is the first of its kind in New Zealand and enables a deeper commitment to, and professional recognition for, teaching at a tertiary level.
